I have been trying to find a place that has an Oregon Rail part for bridge signals
in stock. It is the #104, 3 light vertical target. I even sent an email to Oregon Rail to see when and if they are going to ship, but haven't heard a thing from them. If you know of a place, please let me know. I have two bridges that need them and these parts have my project on hold. Thanks

Rex, I think Oregon Rail is in trouble. They haven't introduced any new products since 2004 and their stuff seems be out of stock everywhere. I'd start looking for a different manufacturer at this point.

They have some of the Oregon stuff, although they don't have the #104 either. I guess if you really wanted the 3 light target, you could get a kit and not use it all.
Seems odd they aren't answering email. A few months back, I bought a signal and it was missing the finial for the top. I sent an email, got an immediate response and parts in the mail within a few days.
Makes me wonder too. If a lot of these places "farm out" their injection molding, if we won't see more of this. With the economy the way it is and the downturn in automotive, it seems to be hitting injection molders pretty hard. Several in this area went Chap 11 and are no longer around.
Jim, I think they are still around. Their prices went up about the same percentage as the rest on the home site. It would be a shame to lose them as their kits save you about 50% when you add a little effort to build them. I may try to give them a call and see what's up.
Steve, FirstPlace is always the firstplace I check

. I like their staff and prices. Can't afford to buy a full 3 sig kit for this. That would more than double my cost and I need 8. I may have to use single targets, either 3 or a single with a tri-color LED. I'm not sure if the SE8 driver board will control a tri-color, I need to check it out. With individual targets, i could just make them using washers and tubing. (Still hate to go that route

)
I called Oregon Rail and they are very much still in business. I went ahead and ordered direct and will have them in a few days (full price

). He said that they had shipped a box to Walthers, but they sold immediately. At least ordering direct will save the time involved with getting them through all the channels.

That's good to hear, Rex, but they really need to update their web site. They have new products they announced for 2004 and the link takes you to a page that says they are being delayed until 2005.

Wouldn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling about ordering from them.
Jim, I kind of got the idea that it is pretty laid back and mostly ship to distributors. Still, I'm glad they are around. Oregon Rail is the only place that I know of to get a signal kit and save. If you add-up Tomar parts for a 3 aspect block signal it is the same as assembled.
It is easy enough to scratch build one of these things with only a few purchases and can solder the fine wires and brass parts. However, these few purchases still add up to about the OR kit price. This may be my next route since an assembled Tomar is $23 msrp

.
BTW: looking at all the online sites, the biggest rip off is what they want for LED's: $3.95 for 3. If you go to some of the electronic sales sites, you can get the same ones for $18 per 100.
Dang it, Rex, how come you have to post links to places like that? I came up with about five new projects looking at what they have available and I haven't finished my other projects yet.

Ain't it nice! LOL (Just had to give you something to do.)
Along with the axial, I'm going to order some of those encapsulated LEDs f/u/w my turnouts. It sure would be cheap and easy.
