I’m new to the forum, hoping that someone can help me with some information on an unusual kit. First off, I’m an HO collector, but I recently came into possession of a very old looking box that is labeled “Meeco Toy Work Trolley”. The kit pieces are all heavy Diecast metal. The base is 10” x 2 1/4” (approx). This box was in an HO collection I purchased, but obviously it’s much larger. My friend who is an avid O scale collector believes it is probably a 2 rail O scale kit. I’ve looked , but so far I have had no luck finding any information on Meeco Toy. I’m unsure if “work” is in the company name or its a “work” trolley. Any information would be greatly
.
I answered part of my own question - it’s a work trolley
Thank you for the reply ! I figured it was from the 1950’s era. Makes sense that I got it from a collector in New Jersey where it was manufactured. This is the first time I’ve ever seen this kit. Unfortunately, there are parts missing. I have the original box, but it is missing the original instruction sheet. I was able to roughly assemble it, the kit has the 2 main bolts to hold each cab to the base, but the nuts and all other screws are missing. Interesting find nonetheless thank you for the help. I must’ve entered my search query wrong because I wasn’t able to find any information on it.
You are most welcome and thanks again for sharing your rare find.
I use Microsoft's Artificial Intelligence "Copilot" for searches like this. It is free and built into my browser, Edge.
With AI still in its development stage you must watch for bogus information, but generally it is very good.
