Evening Guys. I am in need of some advice on using a DN163PS decoder to run both foward and reverse headlights,but also the gyralight. The engine I'm putting the decoder in is a Proto 2000 U-30B,in L&N paint. I have contacted Digitrax,basically what they told me was,to make my connections between the green and blue wires,program CV51 to a value of 36,and when F1 is activated,the light will be on.What I want to know is, do I disconnect the blue wire from the plug? Or do I solder one wire to the plug,and the other wire to the green wire. BTW,there are four additional wires coming out of the back of the decoder,a green one,a brown one,a violet one,and a yellow and white wire. Somebody please help make sense of what they are trying to tell me.William.

Yellow and white are froward and reverse headlights, brown I think is your common, the green and (purple?) are your function wires I believe.

Check page 6 of the instruction sheet on the Digitrax site. It shows pads on the board that looks like a place to solder an additional blue wire.

Wires:
Red and Black - track power
Orange and Grey - motor
White - Headlight
Yellow - Rear light
BLUE - Common for ALL light functions
Green and Violet - Light functions 3 and 4

So for each light, you need a color and BLUE.
Headlight = White and blue
Rear = Yellow and blue
Gyralite (or any other function you might choose) Green OR Violet and blue
