I have a digitrax decoder from a athearn genesis engine. DC works on it, but I do not know that DCC addy for it. It was used when I got it and I failed to ask when I bought it.

Im currently unable to reset the factory settings to where it would just be the basic #3 for DCC.

Would someone be willing to reset it for me Ill gladly pay s/h there and back and give a few bucks for your time if ya like.

If anyone can help please pm me.

thanks Mike

What kind of DCC system are you using? You should be able to just set CV 08 to the value of 008 to reset a Digitrax decoder back to factory values.

Jim,

right now all I have is the bachmann ez command. Looking to get something else in the future just not sure when. Id like to get this engine up and going with dcc and I know the bachmann cant do cv's ect.. so figured this was my only option for now.

Anybody in the area with a more powerful DCC system??

Have you tried the units road number as a possible address?? Or the last 2 digits?? All of my engines are set to a long address that equals the road number. Makes things simple.;)

If there is I dont know about em lol. I dont know of any other model RR's in the area. Im sure there are some I just dont know any of em.

No i havent tried that. When I bought the stuff it was just powered frames.

Well I tried resetting it like it says, but no go. It acts like it turns on when I asign a new addy, but never moves. I suppose its possable the decoder is bad??? No idea though.

Any hobby shops or MR clubs in the area? If nothing else, Tony's Train Exchange or Litchfield's will reset for a nominal cost, but the shipping and resetting may be more expensive than buying a new decoder and sitting this one aside until you get a system with CV address capabilities.

Nope sure isnt. Yeah im wondering if I shouldnt wait till I just get a new dcc setup.

I was originally looking at the NCE power cab when I was gonna get a new DCC system. But put it off a bit due to house repairs YAAAY.
