I think its about time to tell you all about my new and biggest project (besides my Layout) and maybe also most ambitious project.

I call it "NASHVILLE RAILROAD AVENUE"

the idea:

Iam building a diorama with the size 120x45cm with attachable curves outside the diorama and a small shadowstation behind the module. i will build the whole thing with only stuff iam also selling in my small shop. the idea is to go to shows, showcase the work i have done, and also showcasing products iam selling.

the start:
in the beginning was the "Railroad Avenue" Kit from FOS Scale Models. Doug did another outstanding job on this buildings, so i decided to get one.

i did draw all the wood works i need to get. so i did draw the plan.

as you can see in the topdown. there will be a trainline that will go trough the whole diorama, but a bit lower then the "city".
after i was finished with the plan. i decided to draw it digital and laser all the parts. so i build a small diorama of the diorama :D
to see how it could look in the end, and also to see if i had everything needed.

i decided that i have everything, so i could order the wood from a friend. he made all the cuts for me.
iam using Poplar plywood 10mm. its light but also sturdy.

one of my young supervisors was a bit confused, but the whole time watching what iam doing :D

well thats it for the start.

So

Here is another update on the build. I had some time last sunday to start.
First i got the wood ready from a friend.

IMG_1578.JPG

the first thing i did, was laying out the turnouts to see, if the space fits that i planed out in my head.
i would say it will work. i was maybe hoping for 2-3cm more, but it will work.

IMG_1582.JPG

then i did lay out the whole "trackplan" that was easy, because there is not much track haha.

IMG_1585.JPG

how will it work in the end?
the track before the curved turnout will be the track that runs, to the back and into a shadowstation.
the one that hangs over the right side, will be a dead end, but covered under the bridge, so it will look that two tracks will go under the bridge to somewhere.

on the upper side, the outer track will go into a tunnel and to the back, so this track will close the loop.
the other track will be a abandoned track. there i will build a scene with a boxcar.

after that was done, i started painting all the walls that needed a "sky".
in the picture the paint is still wet so thats why its a bit glossy.

thats it for now.
i hope to get some work done in the coming days, and also record a video of everything.
over three months from my last video on my channel wow...

cheers
Marco

sometimes it takes a little longer.
its already march and i havent uploaded a video since 4 months or longer.

Howdi Folks

Last weekend i had some time for my project.

First i did glue all the track down and added the power wires. Sorry no picture from that (forgot to take some).
After that i painted the diorama base. Its just a base coat to seal off the wood.

IMG_1672.JPG

after that i decided to write down all the building footprints (and forgot one). I did those in Lightburn so my laser could handle my idea :D

IMG_1673.JPG

now i can throw them around on the diorama base to see, how i want to arange them.
and well thats more or less everything i did.

Well one more thing, i did a new product for my show. its a new type of bushes iam now creating. The base is sisal rope, some paint, a bit of static gras, and as topping some turf :)

so thats all from my side.
wish you all a great start for the week.

Well what can i say?

Dont use a hammer if you think, it should fit...
Dont try to make it fit with a hammer...

Its wood, if it does not fit, use a saw ;)
Well i learnd it the hard way, but in a typical, oh its tight well we will make it fit -.-

so my next task will not be, landscaping, my next task will be, fill the wholes, sand it and than add paint again :)
i think in the end you wont see it, because i can also hide the wrong doings behind scenery, but it did hurt (a bit)...

Wish you all a great start for the week.

cheers
Marco
