I'm looking for some "history" on a recent aquisition. This kit came as a box of sticks, and now that it's built, I keep wondering about the pedigree of it.
The box is from Mainline Models, with no clue to it's contents and hand written on the lid is 10-18-63 $2.50.
The sides of the car, in tiny letters, says Alex 1963, below and to the right of the normal data.
Is is a convention car? If so, from where in the MER? Or a special release to NMRA members??
Any ideas?

Mid-Eastern region NMRA members car. I'm not sure of the year it was issued but the "Alex" could be Alexandria VA, located in NMRA MER.

I'm with Dave, Alexandria is in the heart of the MER and I can easily imagine that city hosting a Regional. It also was a big RR town at that time since it had Potomac Yard (B&O,C&O,SR,RF&P) nearby.
