The old layout has been dismantled and removed. Today I started bench work and bus lines on my new one.

I I’ve got a long way to go

This is not the kind of update I would like to be posting :(. I've done nothing else. I do my cutting and some assembly outside and the weather has not cooperated. In addition I'm unusually busy at work for this time of year.

My first layout was started when I was laid off due to Covid. Lots of extra time then but not at all the case for this one. I picked a rough time to start benchwork 😞

I started the benchwork on my new layout a month ago and I’m only half done. I’ve had a few delays due to some design issues (more on that on my layout build thread later). I’ve come up with some creative solutions tho!

There’s no need to rush on your build so enjoy the journey and worry less about the destination:)

I nearly completely tore down my layout and embarked on a rebuild. Just as I was getting going on that, life took a turn and all work came to a halt for the better part of a year and a half. A few spits and starts, but mostly nothing. I'm finally back it.

These things happen. The work is there to get back to when you are able and ready. :)

My day job is slow with the cold, snow, rain, etc…so since the boss hasn’t laid me off I’ve been messing around in the shop lately.

The boss doesn’t ask questions so I’ve been able to run to Home Depot and get some lumber and cut the pieces for two more sections of bench work in the nice warm shop :p Hopefully have them in place this weekend

I decided to document the build by putting the pics I take into a slide show. I plan to add music at some point. I will update as the build goes on. I think it will be fun to watch in full years from now
