I started it in January of 2020 and it is the culmination of my 70 years in the hobby starting with a Lionel Scout in 1956. It is a folded dog bone design with upper and lower loops connected with a double crossover. It has two long passing sidings, a main and small staging yard, and two reversing sections providing good operating possibilities. It has a lot of features in a nominal space.
It is a stand alone island in the middle of the main basement space with ten removable 2’ X 4’ masonite backdrop panels with Trackside Scenery backdrop photos. This provides aisles all around the layout allowing me to work from inside and outside the layout. It has a mixture of craftsman kits, FSM and others, scratch built structures, and DPM kits.
It is about 70% done, with the main and staging yards yet to be developed.
