My first layout in 40 years

Hi Everyone,

I am starting my first layout in 40 year. Is there a good rescource for making track plans? How does one get started?

How does one get started?

Do you know what scale you want to model in? Do you know how big a layout you want? (How much room do you have?) Do you want continuous running? A switching layout? Or both? Just some of the variables to ask yourself.
I have a 1956 version of 101 Track Plans by Linn Wescott that I'd be happy to send you. The front & rear covers are kind of ruff, (detached) but the rest of it is solid and very good condition. I am not going to use it, how about you pay the postage?

Be prepared to become a little overwhelmed There is a lot we can do to help you but as @2Tracks says, we need to know a little bit more about your situation. One more thing that I would add is that it would be good to know your budget as well.
