So you would have to replace everything? You might have difficulty there. MTH has gone away and the parts and service support will follow. The MTH electronics don't work with any other decoder, including the motor, LEDs and smoke unit.
Yup.So you would have to replace everything?
I vaguely remember something about MTH locomotives being problematic, glad now I don't have one.Yup.
EVERYthing. All the boards, sensors, lights, everything.
Unfortunately, that was MTH's business model: Them, or nothing.Just thinking someone would have a line on something here
I'm assuming you've checked that there is no loose/broken wire and there's nothing jammed in the drive gears ?Just thinking someone would have a line on something here
Do you have a picture of that triplex? Don't think I've ever seen one.
Ok. Thanks for that. I have seen that before but had forgotten it. Not a very common loco is it. Hto imagine that tender being able to carry enough coal and water to feed that huge machine. Who makes the model?
They were made by MTH. Mike's Train House.Who makes the model?
That was one problem the prototype railroads ran into. Also, the tractive effort of the tender decreased as the water and coal were used.Ok. Thanks for that.
