MRFX C&D Cars - 41 in this batch (TONS of pics)

mtrpls

Ignorance is Patriotic
Well, I started this project in January, and have finally finished it... Many of you know I model the NYCS in the northeast, where C&D (construction and demolition debris) is big business. The debris is usually hauled out in old coal gondolas or woodchip gons.

This latest batch of 41 cars adds to the 10 I had previously, now totaling 51 in my fleet. The cars are mostly Athearn Thrall gons and bathtub gons, with some Atlas Coalveyors and old MDC Thrall gons mixed in. In many cases, I kept the original car numbers and simply repatched the reporting marks... I've seen prototype cars that have been repatched, but have kept the original car number; I wanted to emulate this practice. Some cars have been renumbered altogether.

The pics will take a while to load, so be patient. Comments are appreciated.

MRFX 420 (ex Unitrain Services/UNSX) Yes, I admit I had some fun with this car. I mean, just look at its original roadnumber! How could I not think of something like this?

MRFX 4515 (ex Lake Erie, Franklin and Clarion) I call this my “Jekyll & Hyde” car because one side is painted out, the other side is not. The crew just got lazy…

Im speechless!! Absolutely STUNNING WORK!! Beautiful job on every singe one of those cars!! Im really exited to see more!!

Thanks guys! The thin graffiti lines are nothing but gel pens you can pick up at Michael's. Be sure to get the "fine" kind or "medium". All you do is scratch it on there with the gel pen. Just scribble senselessly and it looks like the real thing.

Man, those are some interesting looking cars. I like the "Go Green" one. Sort of gives a different meaning to the phrase. :) I'd kill to have a yard that size.

Thanks everyone for all the comments! A lot of work went into these cars, and it's great to get some good feedback on them. :)
