Once the dirt is applied and dried I will dry brush lighter earth colors throughout and add some grass patches
 
I use earth texture by AK Interactive. I sprinkle real dirt over the texture while it’s wet. Then I use a white glue solution over everything. As for the tracks, once the dirt has dried I dry brush lighter tones of the dirt to simulate tire tracks. Other methods are when the ground cover is still damp to roll a vehicle back and forth.
