Another forum I belong to (specifically, the-gauge.com) just started a contest idea, the first two options are Kit build or Scratch build a structure. It runs for two months, allowing the persons entering to build the structures. My thought was, to get more posting here, to try something similar. Though, to me every 3 months (Quarterly) sounds better, giving 4 of this competition a year.
It could be as simple as, kit build start to finish, scratch build, paint, ect... At that it can get even more complex, following along with Nate's plan, except slightly different. Say, with the interchange idea...
Example: I post that I'll provide each possible entry with one sheet of decals for my dad's RR, and you're to paint, decal (and detail or weather) a certain type of train car. There'd be a list, like:
50' Single Door Boxcar w/o roofwalk #50xx series
50' Gondola #60xx series
Ect...
There's plenty of possibilities here including room for more suggestions!
