I was surprised to see the track cut with side-cutters. Thought that would flatten a depression on the rail, but, I've never tried it either. I used a handled hack- saw blade to cut a track clean.
Fair enough, I acquired a new camera recently for the new video! We dig further into the basics from the beginning on, we did have a video for benchwork and roadbed but I scrapped it to come out with this new video!


In this edition we will discuss proper benchwork, along with laying down cork properly. We hope this video finds to help you on your first Model Railroad Layout!

Surprised no one else commented, or maybe I just didn't see it. They are not actually "side cutters" as in electrical work, but "flush cut rail nippers". They have hardened jaws and make a straight across cut on one end and a pointed cut on the other.
