Very neat find. Disney did indeed have a passion for trains and model railroads. He had a 1/8 scale garden railroad long before the idea of garden railroads ever existed. There's an interesting article about him at http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/valleyindependent/news/monongahela/s_488672.html

Incidentally, very large scale garden railroads, of the sort Disney had, were not really all that unusual back in the 1930's and 40's. I know of several that existed in my local area way back when and old Model Railroader magazines of the period include quite a few examples. They were often a rich man's, or perhaps a master machinist's, toy in those days. Remember, it was a time when HO was still in its infancy and very crude, Lionel was considered a child's toy unsuitable for adult use and accurately scaled, custom built, O-gauge models were priced close to the equivalent of good 2nd hand automobile today!

Ah' how i remember those Saturday afternoon's back in the early 50's ....double feature and a ton of really great cartoons.
And it cost a whole 25 cents. LOL

The cartoons of Donald Duck vs. Chip and Dale are some of my favorites. Thanks for the link to that one.

Im glad that all of you liked the cartoon it sure brought back some cool memories of the old disney cartoons. I recently have been to disneyland and I got to ride in locomotive #2 the E.P. Ripley that was a ride around the park i will never forget.

That's a pretty good one Shauna. Those guys look like they had a pretty good time making that one and it states that it only took an hour.

Great vid Shauna! I don't usually see a lot of you tube stuff with dial up and all, but that was worth the wait!.
Has anyone ever seen the Toy Trunk Railroad? Some pretty funny stuff there: http://www.toytrunkrailroad.com/
