While I've loved trains all my life, I'm new to modelling kits so this is one of my first projects...

...it's a 57 year old all metal logging caboose kit which has been somewhat of a challenge to my limited experience and skills, but nevertheless is an extremely engaging and entertaining project. It's about half done so far. Yet to go are finishing with flashing removal, soldering the railing supports, painting the cab, and trying to figure out which Kadee couplers will fit.

I'll post a pic when it's painted... :)

Sure won't, Rico...

After working on this heavy lump of solder, I'll need to get a blood test for lead poisoning. At least now I know why it needs to roll on two spring loaded trucks. ;)

Thanks, quad... :)

...and you just insightfully nailed my basic model train premise.

I go for the cute factor. :D

Just painted it this afternoon... :)

From the boxes, it looks like the Kadee #15's that go on their logging trucks might fit, so I'm going to experiment with a set off some trucks to see if they work.
