I am using the E-Z couplers that come on all of Model Power's Locos and rolling stock.

what do you mean by should be compatible with almost all knuckle couplers?

Okay. That's a good idea. How did you know about all of my threads though?
Brian, if you look near the top of the page at the small blue bar, you see active topics and new posts. All threads are in a list there and who started them. Besides, I've posted in several that you changed your mind in.

oh okay. That makes me understand much better than before. Seriously.

Heck ya man! I'm definately putting that locomotive on my birthday list now!

Brian, you write pretty good for a 13 year old. Why can't you seem to focus on one topic before changing directions and leading everyone around a circle.

I smell a troll.

I am choosing several Model Power models for my future military layout and a couple of four-wheel truck locomotives. They are pretty nice too, especialy for the prices. I can get several items for about $30 under 200.

Well, that's just it. I write well grammaticlly. But I always have a problem with doing just that, leading everyone in circles, although I try not to.

They should work with all knuckle couplers in your price range (Kadees, Acumate, Proto 2000) are compatible but they work better if you use one brand. You do realize the model power you had a link to has horn hook couplers right?

Ya. That's what all of my trains have. I wanted something that I could change over. Can I do that with a locomotive?

alco sadly it's all gone down the swanny river.

Brian you can change almost any couplers for knuckle couplers on wagons and loco's BUT some model power stuff you can't,,, BACHMANN SILVER SERIES wagons are great runners and come with knuckle couplers and are cheap to buy. You can get a bulk bag of Mc Henry couplers for next to nothing, they are cheap and basic but for what you want will be spot on, you don't have to splash out on the more expensive brands yet, but do check out the Bachmann stuff out, it's cheap but good

Brain, you said at the top of the page that all the MP cars and your engine have knuckle type couplers. Now you say they have horn hook couplers and you want to change over. Which is it? I think most of us are totally baffled trying to follow your line of thinking and guess what might be the right information.

The Model Power engine you linked to absolute junk. At $42, it is a complete waste of money. The undecorated Athearn engine is a much better value and will run a lot better. You can run it undecorated until you have the time and skill to paint and decal it. Better to have a good undecorated engine than a painted piece of junk.

Jim: Well, I tend to see a locomotive that I like, look at the price, and see that the item is way overpriced. Hence the reason I looked on ebay for Athearn engines (which, btw, I can't find what I want on there) and found pretty much next to nothing for locomotives. It was all mostly rolling stock. I thought that that Santa Fe Locomotive was a much better buy for what I was looking for. I'm only looking for something that has four-wheel trucks, is NOT a switcher, and will run good. I have found diddly-squat for anything along those lines. I have the horn hook couplers on everything. That's how they came in the box. Also, you spelled my name wrong. It's okay though.

Steve: From what I have seen, Bachmann's stuff is really expensive.

most of bachmanns stuff is really cheap. Before doing anything else. Buying anyh engines, anything. GO to a library get a book and set your givens and druthers, then come back with questions. Often the engines you see that are "overpriced" are probably good engines at resonable prices they are just expensive when you got no money

I'll try it. I don't have a very good track record with returning library books though.

Could you give me a link to Space mouse's website where it says about givens and druthers. I don't remember what they are.
