While not lit thought these added a nice touch to the end of my business car Johan Carlson.
It ain't a train without the markers! I think Tomar lakes lit sets you can install, but I make do with marker jewels.
Next thing, if it's a business car, it to install a couple of big spotlights under the platform for track inspection at night. That, plus the markers, will really set it off as a business car. Here's a picture a modernized heavyweight business car but it still has markers and track lights.
Anyone know if there is a company out there makes these type of market lights?
And these
You might be able to find something in Micheals or Hobby Lobby in their jewelry dept.
You would be surprised what you can find for model RR'ing.
You could probably get away with using one of the headlights or cowl lights off a old fashion automobile kit from the 20s or 30s.
You can get 1:43 spotlights at
http://www.policecarmodels.com/143lightbars.html hich woul dbe just about the right size do for that roof mounted lights. Those markers are made ny the railroad so you won't find the exact model anywhere.
as Larry said, craft stores can be your friend. Look for small rhinetones in the right color and about the right size. Take a sprue with a round attachment on it and drill it out for the rhinestone. Paint it gold and glue in the rhinestone. Should be more than close enough for the three foot test.
Jim, I found some flared snaps last time that are tiny. I was going to mount some rhinestones inside & mount them on 2 of my pass. cars. You can get them in silver or gold color. Then just spray them w/dullcote & glue them on.
Larry, sounds like a plan. I'm always hanging around the bead aisle at Michaels looking for stuff like this. They know me now so they've stopped calling the police.
