Here is where I posted the other one that I have.....

This is my first ever DCC mechanical reefer by Athearn Genesis. I got a decent pricce for it as I mentioned in the coffee shop. I will pop it on the layout and then post pic in the JR's UPPR thread later.

AND from our very own here (on this forum) as some of you know that TomO has been weathering cars etc and selling them. I had the pleasure of purchasing (2) hoppers of his work and will have them on my interchange for GBW and WC on my layout soon. Very nice work by Tom thank you!

I apologize that I have not had time to take them out for pictures but I will soon and put them on the layout and post in JR's UPPR thread at a later date. I assure you the pictures here do not do it justice. Top notch work!

Lastly some of you may remember a few months back I bought a BIG BOY from a guy that works at the Nevada Railroad Museum etc. I bought the collector edition by Athearn which was a Genesis series with Tsunami 2 etc LEDs all that stuff from him. I also got a few of his heritage passenger cars from a set as well. I recently bought the remaining cars he had and was holding for me as he was working on 2 of them. So soon I will have them sometime next week. This will add 6 more passenger equipment cars to the UP Heritage fleet to be pulled behind the Big Boy or my E8s or SD70M #4015 when that comes in etc.

Here is a sneak peek of them......from his work bench. All have LEDs etc, new diaphrams, couplers etc....other details as well.

Thank you kind sir! They were fun to do, enjoy them

So my last piece of the 1st run Union Pacific Heritage units came in today. #1989 Rio Grande. This unit has additional work done to it. I have yet to run it on the layout tonight to test out all of the bells and whisltes. It has LEDs added at the steps, below the cab and such. It was slightly weathered as well. I am not sure how I feel about the weathering but I may search for another one that is untouched in that manner. I am kinda on the fence about it. This unit has ESU sound system on it as well. Apparently the original Athearn lcomotive came as a DCC ready unit and all the extras were added. I will see how it's first test run goes tonight.

So I tested my new to me UP 1989.....lights work etc horn, bell and other sounds....turns out the previous owner left it in a "consist" mode as I could not get it to move or run. So when I get back in there tonight I have to clrear it and try again.

I thought getting these two were pretty neat! Unique as well. I didn't expect to find a Texas Pacific in the MOPAC shield! Very cool!

The demonstator ACFX hopper is my 2nd one I have obtained but this has a different scheme. There are 3 others schemes that I am aware of that I will be trying to find.

That's it for now.........

Another Tangent free lance private road name being sold and distributed by Homeshops.net. The Arkansas Valley is from JoeLoggan’s free lance line that he started 40 years ago. While this car and 3 other road numbers are sold out this came from Joe’s stash.

I know have 5 cars from HomeShopsLLC with more being ordered each month.

Another postal delivery today.

9 cars from Alcomotive for heavy weathering that I will have a good time with:

My wife Terry told me to knock myself out as nothing is planned for this week unless it’s a last minute thing other then the granddaughter turns 11 on the 31st.

I have nothing else on order accept some Rapido preorders for Centerbeam cars I hope to see in late 2023.

Sooooo, I saw three LBF Conrail boxcars on eBay and decided to bid. These appeared to be (and are) factory assembled and ready to run. Nice! Love LBF stuff. I got out of the hobby before their RTR stuff hit the market. Well I won all three for 38 bucks. Then it hit me. These numbers look familiar. Well it turns out that the three Hubert’s Conrail boxcars are the exact same thing, numbers and all! I know one company became the other, ( no need to explain. I know the history. ) But running the same numbers? 😆😆 Too funny. Not sure what I want to do with them yet. They’re in the mail so here is a screen shot of what I bought. 🥴

Same numbers! Don’t feel too bad. Last February I went to the Mad City train show in Madison with my inventory and my list of things I wanted. Found 2 CN gondolas with numbers I didn’t have but guy was too much on the price. Went around the show and there I am back in front of that guy. 10% off and I purchased them. A few days later I am unpacking them in prep to weather. Same damn numbers I already had. The first time around I had the correct numbers and just figured when I picked them up again.

Solution was easy, Greg@mmr who just passed away on 8/3 wrote and said heavier weathering the last 2 digits

After receiving the cars and giving them a good look, I decided to re-number them. Matching the numbers wasn’t easy. The font LBF used, I could not match. Microscale numbers are close and I’m ok with that. One thing I’m going to redo is the bottom car. The six just didn’t match.
