Mail Call! Railway Post Office, commonly abbreviated as RPO has rolled in!

So after 2 months of orders from various places and my travels of late I have finally had the time to post these goodies to share with ya'll.

1st up a nice Promotex/Herpa Low Boy trailer for 17 bucks that I wanted for my Caterpillar Dealership etc.....

Next up I got this SW1500 Athearn RTR loco that is DCC ready. It has been damaged so I got it cheap for 50 bucks. I ordered replacement parts for it. Side rails, horn, new numbber board for the cab and a few other parts. This loco will be heavily weathered and graffittied etc to cover a lot of the imperfections. The previous owner I have know idea what he did to this unit. dropped it or had a kid play with it.....nonetheless it will be revived and used.

So then I scored a few of these cars on a random buy I was really happy to get these cars especially the caboose as it is the UP Steam Team Caboose that was used on the Big Boy. Which reminds me I have been looking for the cement cars that were pulled by Big Boy last summer. I have pictures of them and I am going to try to match them up by number and road and weathering. The caboose was used when these cement cars were pulled. I also acquired another SNC car that I have been slowly gathering up as there are a dozen of them out there. I have 4 now. The AOK cars were a bonus find too.

Thats it for tonight ya'll I have a few more but that can wait. I am looking to get the new release of the Challenger and a FEF 844. Also looking for a SD70Ace in UP scheme and a ES44AC in UP that had the road number that was behind the Big Boy. I think it was an ES44AC but not for certain. I will have to look more into it. Anyways I have a few dozen more box cars I got that are RTR Athearns but will post later and a few more Intermountain 4 bay covered hoppers that are 3 to a set of 4. I got all of them! This will be it for a while lol I think,,,,I dunno. Later !

Those SD70M with flared radiators really stand out in a consist. Add a standard SD70 to a couple of these and it's an impressive team.

Forgive me for not knowing.....standard SD70 meaning no flair sided radiator? I have several Aces but no so SD70. Hmmm now you got me thinking lol Thanks for the comment I love the feed back here! Do you have one? Can you post a picture?

SD70's had the old fashioned EMD cab. They were only produced in 1992-1994 and were only purchased by Illinois Central, Norfolk Southern and Conrail. After 1994, all SD70's were designated SD70M with the wide cab on them. UP had 1452 of them. SD70's and SD70M's were DC models. MAC's and Aces are all AC models. I believe that the SD70's did not have the flared radiator, but I cannot say for sure as they didn't venture into Santa Fe territory.

Finally got round to do some RR. These have all arrived in the last two weeks, but haven't had time to post.
The spares I got from Amain Hobbies.

Added these to my roster, the SD60 is from the US, the 45 I got locally. I noticed the SD45 is properly numbered but not the SD60.

And I finally found a DD44, but I think it's actually a Penn RR 35A? this hasn't run in over 40 years, but it does try, will need some TLC (and lots of wheel cleaning) with another SD60 Lease.

I got a box of new goodies, actually a couple but only post one. Odds and ends for the new layout, Rix cafe looks like a good copy of the Cornerstone for the Wyoming layout. The snowplow will be adapted for NP 328, hope to use the headlamp in one of my ebay purchases, and will be upgrading the cupolas in the potato warehouse:

Postage only 8.05, prolly cost more than that to drive to the hobby store.
