I like the details on these cars, an Intermountain1958 CU FT 2 Bay Hopper. I wanted to add to the fleet, I have the three road numbers for GN, plus a duplicate number, so I went with this UP version.
A lot of detail on them, so you kind of have to watch how you handle it.
An end view..
I also picked up another sand tower kit, manufactured in Oakridge Oregon...well, some time ago it was.....
Thought I'd try and build up a little inventory while there was still some inventory.
Also picked up a couple more of the Intermountain GN 2bay covered hoppers. These are from their second run, (different series.) Both runs have 6 car numbers. I have 3 numbers from the first run and the these two.
Here are the two series to compare.... first series on the right.
Hello. While on vacation I couldn’t resist some model railroading retail therapy. I ordered these on Saturday and they arrived at home in Wisconsin on Monday. I asked my SIL to open all 5 of these for inspection and photos. They look great. They are
Atlas ARMN 64’ trinity reefers. This gives me 6 of Atlas and BLMA reefers for a overall total of 8. The SIL will paint graffiti on these before we get home, I will then add the weathering.

I wish the SIL shared my love of model railroading. But, he trained as a graphic artist in college even though he never applied for a job in it. He wants to do the grafitti on the now 8 reefers I have and I’m great with that. He did help me along with the son on the latest 3 lane slot car track. He will do the 2 non ARMN first. He and the grandson will run the layout a few times per week while I am gone.

Took me about two weeks to put this car together, just plugging away at it.......
I do have several many tank cars, my first Army tank car though.... When I went to apply the decals on the under frame, the ID decal on the left end literally exploded when I drop it back into the dish of water. I hadn't even thought about it being brittle, but I had the remedy for that, a bottle of Microscale Liquid Decal Film. I coated the rest of the decals and got them applied ok. The ID decal I had to install one character at a time from a decal sheet.
The hand rail was a real bugger, it is some what flexible and was broken in two places on one end and one place on the other end. I like the Tichy handrails, they seem to be made out of a more rigid plastic.
A few more packages arrived when I was away in Alabama tis past week.
I wanted to get this locomotive as it was a local that ran in Saratoga Springs to North Creek and used to do the ski train etc and tourism etc. I even got a boxcar in the SNC livery recently as well. So this will just be a run thru on my layout on occasions. This has great sound. I bought this from Yankeedabbler.com. Great price! I will do a debut later on, on my thread of JR's UPPR.
I went to the LHS on my lunch break today and came away with some switches. I probrably could have gotten these online but I like to support them now and then.
I came home to these 4 cars delivered by USPS snail mail. I got these off FaceBook Market Place. $76 total including shipping...not bad it breaks down to $25.33 each.
So I did get these in recently and posted a few pics on my JR's UPRR thread but here's a few more detailed info.....also I did score finally a decent priced UP 1943 Spirit of Union Pacific sound and LEDs.
I also have on the way another Heritage unit I scored off of Evil Bay...UP MOPAC so that brings me to 4 with 2 more in the hunt for...Katy and DRGW heritage units left!
I also got some ballast hoppers 7 of them coming for my MOW train along with a new SW1500 UPY unit. More switches coming as well.
Yup Christmas has come early and will continue too!
