Happy 2025 (late to the party)... most of the layout track on one side has been ripped up to rewire and reverse the track layout a bit. I really wanted to have some Amtrak stuff in and due to shelf size and turn radius, I knew passenger cars would not work but I decided that I will just have part of the layout be a diorama of sorts for Amtrak and not run them but still have the ability to power the cars for lighting and such. Taking my time this go around with more functional use of turnouts (had to sort some power issues) as some turnouts were giving me issues.

The post before this, the track layout remains the same and will still be warehouse industry related. The other section will soon have a train station, platforms and warehouse as well. I am off the road for another 2 weeks or so. I am hoping I can get a lot accomplished on this but I'm going for more detail so it will take some time.

as much as I hate to say it, I moved, tore the entire thing apart and trashed the hard pieces. I kept all of my structures I built/modded and will be building another one this summer that is only 8 feet by 1 foot so much smaller space to work with but we will see what I can come up with

I plan to have some new photos of the new layout base layer posted by this weekend. I have the shelving mounted to the wall, foam board laid and painted base earth brown and have a fair idea of track layout. I have added a 4 foot extension that goes behind my TV for yard switching and staging.

12 feet total for track, 8 feet by 1 foot of space for structures and scenery. Backdrop still being decided on but may just go with a sky blue. Not certain yet.

Here's a little treat for you. Started visually laying out what I wanted and most importantly, to see what fits and works.

The blue sky backdrop is painted and drying and should be put up tonight.

Ballast, remaining 20 gauge wire for the main power and roadbed are shipped and should be here this weekend. Once the track is anchored with the road bed, it's full speed ahead on everything else.

This scene is nearing completion.

The trees are custom made by Roger at Coastman Trees. I have used his trees on all of my layouts I have worked on. I'll be acquiring some more for this one soon.
