Looking for special single edged razor blade

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a single edged razor blade that is honed only on one side, like the Xacto #18 Chisel Blade.

Problem with standard single edged razor blades is they cut a V so there is a slope on both the cutoff piece and the stock piece. With a blade honed only on one side, the cutoff piece would have a slope but the stock piece wouldn't (similar to what you get when using flush cut nippers).

I would like to find something that would easily fit into a strip cutter like the chopper.

Anyone here ever seen such a blade?

Thanks,

Gord

I have a pack of razor blades that are single edged. I'm not sure of the brand, or where I got them, had them for ~6 years.

Gord, I know what you mean, a quick look in the shop said mine are double-honed (single edge).

But I'm not sure why you need a single honed blade for chopping purposes. The angle is miniscule. Push come to shove, you COULD adjust the position of the blade so that one side is vertical (meaning the other is even more sloped).

Most hobby shops that carry a lot of wood aircraft & boats will have that item.
