Diesel Detail Freak
Just a quicky question, if anyone has pictures, mostly of the rail line, trans need not to me in the picture, of Cajon pass, well infact the BNSF & UP lines from San Bernadino's Metrolink station & the Intermodal yard, all the way to Barstow's BNSF yard, the UP line separation in Victorville... I'd like them, as I'm going to start a series of modules, particularly of the south end, so that later when I have the space I can start assembling the layout.

Right now I have a great need for the area from the San Bernadino intermodal yard North along side the I215. This spot will take up the least width, and I'd like to start a couple of modules (in addition to a neat snow diorama)...

If you know of sources for these pics, top down shots (aircraft, helicoptors) would be cool to, does anyone own the above california rails dvd? If so does it show this area at all?

Thanks!

Here's a link to Above Southern California Rails: http://www.pentrex.com/atrcdvd.html

That is a great video and the DVD also includes Above 3751 Over Cajon which follows the steam engine from LA to Barstow.
Thus why I'm asking if anyone's seen it before I buy it now for the purpose of modeling... Want to know how close it is to the ground...

Also Google Earth is a great program to view cities and such. http://earth.google.com/
Yeah, got it, but they biggest issue there is lack of detail lower down. for the true elevation changes, locations, signs, ballast... Ect... I need, right now, the distance from the Intermodal yard, to the Grain(correct?) tower north of there...

I'm going to ask on the yahoo Cajopn group, and socalrailfan forums today...

Sweet! thanks, gonna buy it before the 1st of Jan (if I don't get it for christmas)
