ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.
I need help finding if anyone makes a model of a 2-8-0 Pennsylvania H8, H9, or H10 consolidation. My historical researching has lead me to determine that this was definitely one of their primary locomotive types yet the only models I have even glimpsed of it are all brass imports. I'm wanting to build a branch line and so I could use some locomotives appropriate for branch line duty that are between the 0-8-0 yard shifters and the heavier main line locomotives, but there seams to be a void of models.
Your best bet is Bowser. The have quite a few kits of Pennsy locos. Their kits are not that difficult and after assembly, are some of the best runners and pullers available. If you're not mechanically inclined, some of them are available as RTR.
You can also download the instructions and other information about each loco from each kit's page.
Again, these kits are not hard nor tedious. I have built many Bowser kits over the years, and if you follow the directions and work slowly and carefully, you can build any of their kits.
