Looking for a new locomotive.

I have been looking for a new Diesel locomotive and here is what I have found a Union Pacific GP30 Diesel http://www.wholesaletrains.com/Detail.asp?ID=5124
Is this a good engine? Wish I could get a Union Pacific SD40-2 but I don't think it will work on my 4ft 6in corner I have. Do you think that I will be okay even tho for the GP30 it says 5ft?
Thanks
Nick

The GP30 will get around those R1 curves, but it wont pull cars around it. The pilot mounted coupler will pull the front of the lead car off the track. Diesels that will do R1 curves are the Aristo/REA Alco FA diesel, LGB White Pass and the quasi Alco/EMD engines that made up the so called "Queen Mary" series, of which they did ATSF, UP and DRGW paint schemes. Also the LGB F7 and Amtrak Genesis diesels will go around and pull cars around those tight curves. Unfortunatly, modeling with diesels mostly take 5' and larger curves. Mike
