For some reason I love this car. Maybe because it is so simple. It's a cheep buy I just can't resist. Often they are in less than perfect condition so this is what I do.
I want to keep it with a used look. I want the side lettering to be in a good condition otherwise, you do a full strip and paint up.
So with a scotchbrite pad and rubbing compound I clean up the frame. I do not remove the riveted trucks. I work out all the rust spots to a shine. When done, I clean it off with a rag and paint thinner. Lastly, I coat it with an acrylic base floor shine.
