The stars of this video clip are the two Athearn F units I've had a problem with (see the 'Minor DCC problem' thread in the HO board). The third loco is a dummy. The two black locos you'll on the other line are P2K E units running on Bachmann decoders. Now even though the two locos you're about to get a close look at are Athearn BB units you won't hear any Athearn growl. They have been re engineered so that they run very quietly and draw very little power.

Nice video Jeffrey, looks to be some decent distance there. I couldn't hear the quietness of your engines because the sound on my computer died today.

Well, I'll put it this way. The two Proto 2000 E units make more noise than the two Athearn's do, and you know how quiet Proto 2000's are.
Jeffrey, those F units did sound good but where are your cabooses? We can't have classic engines runnng with cabooseless trains.

I just didn't feel like putting any on.
