Welcome to the place. I'm building my own layout with Unitrack and it is great to work with.

The SCARM website has 18 Kato n scale track plans. Or just go on Youtube and search for Kato n scale track plans. You will find dozens.

Also consider investing in layout design software. Especially with sectional track like Kato, it will pay for itself in savings by not overbuying track you don't need. I use Anyrail, it is super easy to learn, has the complete Kato track library (as well as dozens of others in all scales), and is about $70 for a lifetime license. Good luck and keep us informed.

I agree with you on Anyrail for planning. I would like to mention that when I bought Anyrail 6 I assumed any upgrades to a newer platform would be covered. When Anyrail 7 came out I could not access all features so contacted them and was told I would have to pay more to get all the features in Anyrail 7. The lifetime license is only for the version originally bought. This is still a good program I think.
