Everything fits in place!! I did shortened the tracks a few inches.
Go back to page #3 of this thread. It is a roll of 1/4" cork I found on Amazon.Wheeler, is that homasote that you have under your track and if so, may I ask where you purchase it. I can’t find it here in Halifax so far.
Note that fuel trucks generally only hold 5,000 gallons, so filling them by truck in the real world is a bit impractical. But it is your railroad.Next area to readdress is this. I will build a tank truck off loading area. That way I can receive fuel by rail or truck.
I receive 8,000 gallon tankers at work weekly Jet A which is almost the exact weight per gallon as diesel.Note that fuel trucks generally only hold 5,000 gallons, so filling them by truck in the real world is a bit impractical. But it is your railroad.
Rick are you talking litres??Actually straight truck tankers hold around 5,000 gallons but a semi tanker can go up to 11,000 depending on the type of trailer and commodity.
Super B's can go as high as around 18,000 gallons depending on the commodity as well as the maximum gross weight allowed on the road.
Never have seen one that large - but I don't get out as much as I once did.The ones I pulled held 63,500 litres of fuel, I’ll let you convert to US gallons, I think I messed it up!
3.785 litres to a gallon. The ones I pulled held 63,500 litres of fuel, I’ll let you convert to US gallons, I think I messed it up! LOL
Fun fact... can you guess what the most dangerous commodity to haul is?
Believe it or not the answer is milk!
This is because milk tankers have no interior baffles so stopping or cornering takes some acquired skills.
If you’re beside one at a traffic light you may notice it rocking back and forth while sitting still.
One like this bad boy...Never have seen one that large - but I don't get out as much as I once did.
That's 16,645 gal. Is that one trailer, or a tandem?
