I think my DCS100 might be dying…

Every couple of days, I turn on my system, my DCS100 gives me the 7 beeps. ( low battery ) I’ve replaced the battery twice this year so far. Brand new batteries that check out just fine. Yet my 20+ year old DCS 100 is still draining them. It’s frustrating that I loose all my mu’ed consists every time I power up. So I’m considering my last major dcc purchase/ upgrade to a DCS240+. Did some checking and it looks like it will work with all my antique Digitrax throttles and boosters.( DT 400, 402, UT’s UP-3’s and UP-5’s etc. ) Also looks like the only restrictions I will have is limited functions due to my older throttles. Buying one of the newer ugly ones will fix that.

I still want to play around with the DCS 100 to see if I can fix it before purchasing a new booster but it think it might be just too tired.

Anyone use a Digitrax DCS240+? Please let me know. Thanks.

Not really. I’m way too invested in Digitrax. Been with them from the beginning.

Have you contacted Digitrax? Perhaps something as simple a replacing a capacitor in the unit.

No , I did not. I went ahead and bought a DCS240+. I’ll get it installed get things going and then see what’s wrong with the DCS100.
