I killed a Pepsi

While working on some trackwork this morning I needed to use my railnippers to cut off about a quarter inch of track.
And I did.
Immediately upon making the cut I heard a thwziiiiiiiiiingggg pssssstttttttt and looking up saw a nearby can of Pepsi spewing the beverage out in an almost straight line. The cut piece of track had pierced the can and it was going all over everything so I grabbed it and took it outside the room.
Tracklaying can be dangerous work.
I do always remember to close my eyes and turn my head when making a cut....... :p

I heard that pepsi works nearly as acid :D. so it can be useful in soldering. Have you cleaned the tracks?

Along with eye protection, it is best to cup your hand over the cut. Also, watch out for trimming piano wire used with Tortoise. The ends will take off like a bullet and do just as much damage.

That thing took off like a rocket. I think I will drape a little piece of cloth or something over it from now on.
