Bernie, as I remember, you take off the couplers and then unscrew the two small srews on the front of the fuel tank. The body then rocks off with a little pressure. I don't have mine anymore so maybe someone with on can give you more exact instructions.
Now you have to get DCC to hear some great sounds like the horn, bell etc. With DC you'll hear the engines which is good but DCC is a whole other world
