Train spotter in narrow escape

A railway enthusiast has had a lucky escape after narrowly avoiding an express train travelling at around 70 miles per hour.

The man was filming the Oliver Cromwell steam train in Thurston in Suffolk, when another train sped through the station from the opposite direction.

It almost clipped the train spotter, who seemed unfazed by what happened.

Well .. he didn't seem unfazed to me. Talk about something forcing a heart attack!!

I wonder how many are killed or injured each year that way. When I worked in philly during the 70's there were several times when I'd be at a crowed train platform. What seems like out of nowhere a GG1 passenger train or Metroliner would zoom by with horn blazing. They would be passing only a couple of feet from the people on the platform.
