i have a 4x12 layout and i am learning more and more everyday. i have atlas code 100. can i use different track manufacterers. example can i use a kato turnout on atlas track. who makes the best track. i think i want to change my turn radiases.

You probably could adapt a Kato turnout to your Atlas flextrack, but you would effectively spend lots of money for little gain that way. Why not use a Peco turnout, or an Atlas turnout, or a Central Valley or Micro Engineering turnout? Those turnouts are far more closely matched in terms of construction than the Kato? I think the Kato you are contemplating has plastic fake "ballast" skirting and roadbed under the ties, and that profile and height may not be what the Atlas would be with cork or foam roadbed under it. You would have to use cardstock or something else for shims...a pain.
