A few years ago I bought an electrical gadget for my Ho train layout. It was hooked up to a straight piece of track on which I ran a small trolley. When the trolley reached the end of the track it did an about face and went in the opposite direction because of the gadget (switch ) I had on it. It is a small black box about 2 1/2" cubed with 6 wires coming out of it, 2 blue, 2 white, and 2 yellow. I have since lost the instructions and now that my grandchildren are at the ages (4 and 2) where they are interested in the train layout I would like to hook up that switch again. Can someone explain where the wires go and how to hook up the track to it? Thank you very much.

It's an automatic reverser. Is there any manufacturer's name on the cube? Usually, two wires went to the track, two wires went to a reverser at the other end of the line, and two wires went to the power pack. If you can find a company name, we might be able to track down the actual directions.

No, there is nothing written on the switch. I decided to call the train shop where I bought the switch a few years ago and he told me he doesn't have anymore of them. I asked him if he knew who the manufacturer was and he told me Jim Lewis and also gave me Jim's phone number. I called Jim and he said he could help me out with the switch wiring, but after talking for awhile I found out he now makes a more modern one that will not only stop at the ends of the track run but it will also makes multiple stops in between. So for $29.95 I now have a new switch headed my way and the wiring instructions for my old one, too. Thank you very much for your thoughts.

Good deal, Rich. I'll be interested to hear how this works for you and some contact information for Mr. Lewis or his company. Sounds like he really stands behind his products.
