I wouldn't say new as it came out around 2013 but it's definitely seen growth in the last few years (its less known). Yes, it's just another online marketplace where you can sell and purchase stuff. I'd definitely say its a competitor seeing that they've introduced $0 selling fees for sellers which is really nice. Shipping is also typically cheaper for buyers. I wish it was more well known as selling stuff on eBay is fine but the fees are a huge killer.
