I cannot figure out why my 3 Athearn Genesis SD60's do not make the 22" radius turns on my U shaped layout (inner track). I do not have issues like this with my Kato AC4400 6 axle engine. Only with Atlas and Athearn. I don't even have issues with my 2-8-2 MTH Light Mikado. Is this normal for all modern model Diesels under these two manufacturers??
My Genesis SD60i had similar issues. It found every imperfection on my 22 inch turns. After fixing them it was fine. First double check that they are 22 inch and not 18. Also check the spot just above the arrow in your pic. The joint might be kinked in alittle and not lined up correctly. Run the engines slowly to see where they come off the tracks.
I can see a pretty obvious kink in the section of the curve just beyond the red arrow toward the rail joint. The outside curve looks fine but it looks like you forced the inside curve a little, ending up with that kink. You can usually fix it by cutting the sliding rail on the flex track a bit shorter and pulling the curve back into alignment.
