Hi everyone.
I ordered an HO Scale BN SD40-2 Locomotive from Historic Rail last week. And I called them yesterday just to see if they got in my order and the told me that my Locomotive is currently on back order. This happens to me all the time. Does this happen to some of you Guys? I think that this will be my last order from these people if this keeps up. Later.
Historic Rail is a drop ship operation when it comes to models. When you order a model, they order it from whoever their supplier is and it gets shipped to you with their label on the box. They never know, or care, if the item is in stock. In addition, their prices range from retail to outrageous. There are much better places to shop on-line than Historic Rail. I use Hobbylinc (
http://www.hobbylinc.com/prods/u.htm) for most of my on-line purchases. They have a good information system and it will tell you if an item is out of stock and when it's expected back in stock 99% of the time. Their prices range from 15% to 30% off retail. Don't forget to check Walthers also for their sale items - you can sometimes pick up decent bargains there too.
