Very nice forum, I don't know why it took me so long to find it! A lot of very nice layouts here.

I model O scale traction, loosely based on a past local railroad, the Niagara, St. Catharines and Toronto Railway. They had some very interesting equipment and some of the traction motors and streetcars are represented on my layout.

Here are a few sample pictures. EXIF data should be intact.

The rail is hand laid code 100. The entire layout is live overhead. I am planning on converting to DCC operation, but we may be moving in the near future, so a reconstruction of the system may be forthcoming.

Thanks!

Tom

Nice! Very nice!!! And a hearty welcome to the Forum Tom. You'll find that this is a laid back and friendly place with a great bunch of modelers contributing to the forum. Don't forget to stop by the Coffee Shop. Flo serves the best coffee anywhere and I hear that there are freshly baked cookies over there today.

And again WOW! wonderful work!

Welcome aboard, Tom. That's some great modeling and great photography too. I look forward to seeing more if your layout. I've always been jealous of you traction guys that can run off live overhead. I have enough trouble keeping power flowing through the tracks. :)

Welcome, aboard.
Outstanding layout. Some of those turnouts with crossovers running through the middle of them are superb. They must of taken a couple minutes to build, huh?

Please post more pix and maybe some how-to's or how-did's on scenery, hand laying, catenary, etc.

Hi Tom,
That is awsome work!
I dabble in five different scales and have often thought of going the O two rail route.
Have you given any thought to doing an article for CRM?

Next time we go for coffee I'll pass your photos on to Morgan if you don't mind?

Wow, I'll second that! Fantastic work and the scenery is awesome!

Are you located in the Niagara area? (I'm north of Orillia shivering in the frikkin cold. :) )

Hi Tom, first a warm welcome to our forums. Holy smokes, that is top line modeling and presentation. Thanks for posting photos of your layout, very well done I say.

Cheers Willis

Hi Mark.

Yes, I am in the Sunny South end of St. Catharines. (for now). It's around freezing here too, but that's when I get to work on the layout!

Tom.

Outstanding work Tom. I can't even imagine doing live overhead like that! Very cool. And the hand laid track work is sweet.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing those pics. I look forward to seeing more.

I'm down in the SOUTHERN Ontario, where it snows one day and rains the next. I wish it would make up its mind!

Heck Tom I go to St. Catherines for Homemade Polish Sausage with my friend just off the Queen E !! I also ride the Train from Niagara Falls to Toronto on occasion .

Okay Tom, I'll be seeing Morgan soon so let's see how it goes!
As for the writing skills, no biggie, it's easier than it sounds.
(So where's my article, right?!?!)
