Really looking good. I have done a lot of custom painting over the years and always get a lot of satisfaction with the finished product. Waiting to see your progress. Nice work so far, but I do agree with Sherrel as black can be a hard color to cover.

Chuck:
I presume that you know which is best, but wouldn't it work better to have painted the red first?
i can fly this plane shirley :)
i like going with the black first
have done 3 that way , use a great masking tape and no probs so far
but point taken :)
the paint is Tamiya or i may use Vallejo
will keep ya,all posted on progress

This one is turning out rough , it shall become heavily weathered to cover the blemishes :) Transfers to Arrive and be applied then Another coat of weathering , Chuck

Black shells are tough. Reds, oranges and yellows are really tough over black. It's best to paint a black shell with some cheap Testors silver. It goes on very thin, covers well, and it's neutral. It doesn't tint the colors as the black does. All things being equal, always start with the lightest color and proceed to the darkest.
