Greetings from Eureka, California

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Moved to Eureka from Stockton and have not yet built a layout in Eureka. I have not decided if I want to model the Stockton Terminal and Eastern or do a logging layout based in Humboldt county. I really do like the logging engines and the scenery of logging areas.

:)

What part of Stockton did you move from?

I used to work at ST&E (for a short time) and would LOVE to see ST&E models.

Perhaps we have met?

Hey neighbor, I live in Trinidad...work in Eureka everyday. I am building a lumber layout based on the Humboldt County area.

I lived in Colonial Heights area of Stockton, just north of Hammer lane near the fire station. I don't know if we have met I used to get together with my friends John and Stathi Pappas to build models and work on each other's layouts. I miss the trains in Stockton as there are no trains running in Eureka these days.

It is freelanced, based on the North Coast Railroad in the early 90's. Trains will eventually go out to the mill in Korbel, then to a lumber sales facility. I have a yard I call the Eureka yard. The track is layed, working on scenery. It is not very big...my 1st layout. Just experimenting with scenery and track work.

When My wife and I purchase a home. I will build it from Willets to Korbel, although it might not be that fun operationally, so I will have to add a few made up industries.
