I am interested in finding a grade crossing signals for DCC. I want to manually control them using Digitrax DS64s, I have no need for detection signaling.
Will the Walthers grade crossings work? If not, which one's do you recommended?
They seem very simple to me. They do use track power as they need to recive the dcc packet code. The unit itself also does require a seperate power supply tho, cause it has capasitive discharge, but most likely you will not need this.
Programming them via cv's (just like loco decoders) is how you change them to work as blinkers and not switch machines

So do I wire them to the DS64 inputs? Same as a switch? And also to the track power?
Thanks kz9, I appreciate the help. I think I will go ahead and get a pair of these then. I already have some DS64s, and I saw in the manual where you program them for crossing signals.
Those signal will work fine, as long as you don't use the Walthers crossing module controller. They are not compatible with DCC and will damage your DCC controller. The signals already have the appropriate resistors installed in-line with the wiring. Since you want to control them manually, you should only have to hook up the wires just like you were controlling a turnout.
