GN revival?


obviously these units are not from GN roster of its hey day correct? as you said they are needing space for unit numbering system? Interesting....

Yeah, as far as I can tell the SD40-2's that are getting de-rated are getting put in the 17xx-19xx range. I'm not an expert on the changes however. The SD39's might not be around long, as it seems those new "SD39-2" models created in the SD40-2 de-rating are taking over yard jobs.

I know the 7xxx ranges are quickly becoming Gevo's...

Oh, and so far the units I've found this way are SD39's of Santa Fe heritage.

Reminds me of the UPY, PRR, and NYC reporting marks.
I guess it's easier to keep track of another paper railroad than add another digit to the road numbers.

anyone remember Jerome's SP patch of a UP unit?
 
These are confirmed patches, not photoshop. Well maybe the one with the "B_SF" removed, but 1924 is confirmed.
