It was never really 'broken'. It just ran like crap because of the pickup arrangement. But, I'm beginning to wonder about that now. Ever since I had it apart and cleaned those contacts and poked around in there, I haven't had any further trouble with it. I'm wondering if there was some sort of contamination from the factory on those contacts. It really is an unconventional arrangement they designed.

It had been running great these past months.

A couple things that stand out are the tunnel modifications for stack trains and the lack of guardrails as evidenced by the shiny new dent on the bridge brace.
Also, how the first bridge is ballasted deck while the farther away part is not.

I meant to post this earlier but it was a busy week and now I have a moment. Another of the Trains I Ran Today series, here 5050 is pulling a loaded coal train through the control point onto the main. My favorite guardrail railfanning rig is in the foreground.
