No, not pencils made of foam... Woodland Scenics makes a "grease" pencil for marking on foam.
These look to be a waxy or grease substance, similar to the peel-off twist paper wrapped grease pencils. But those have fat tips. Woodland scenic stuck that greasy gunk in a wooden pencil
Tried them, and loving them. You can sharpen them with a regular sharpener to get a finer point, and it fits in the narrow holes I drilled in my yardstick compass for making turn radii.
If you're careful to not apply much pressure, indentations on the foam are light and easily sanded away if you err...
