"I almost did not post this was a little embarrassed of the way that it looked but it is my first time."

That is michaeljoe's first comment on this thread.

I hope he is not embarrassed anymore. The comments from others say he should not be. I wonder how many others feel the same regarding what was posted?

Remember we all have a first time. Only ourselves are the judge of our modelling. Enjoy the journey.

I recall many years ago a boiler-maker company was welding together a pressure vessel that was longer than the largest available plate steel. They welded two pieces of the larger plate and cut is off to meet spec. Except they cut it off too short! So, they added a piece and cut it off...and, again cut it off too short! Finally got it right on the third try. Found out through a company for which I worked which did a lot of contracting with them. Not sure what may have happened to the foreman...

My guess is, he didn't make the Cutting Crew

That's right, my "modeling" back in the day was to pick up burned matches on the street and stick them in the ground next to scribbled "rails" and pretend that i'm building an electrified railroad. It takes decades to get to any level of actually building models.

I finally mounted my controller/control panel board. Also mounted the power pack/ source to the control panel board.
I need to do some painting and cosmetic work yet.

Now I am running the wires for the turnout tracks. This way I can turn on and off each turnout track with a toggle switch.
My plan is to have three locomotives with cars on three separate turnout tracks. But I will only be able to run one train at a time on the main line, while the other two sit on the other tracks with the power turned off.

My layout is small so I don't mind running just one train at a time..... Of course it is DC analog only. And that's okay for now.
...... I hope this makes sense.
I always tried to get my pictures to be laid out in a certain order. But it never works out, I hope you get the idea.

Now I have to run the wires to the three toggle switches.
I connected the wires from the three different turnout tracks/lines to the three toggle switches.

Time to run the main track power lines.
I plan to run one line from the power transformer to a bus terminal, than two lines, one to each end of the layout.

I have a power track on each end of the layout to connect the main power line/wires to. Since I did not solder the wires to the track, I will have to use ground cover..... scenery to hide the wire connection to the power tracks.

Pics. are from one end of the layout to the bus terminal. Pics for other side coming up later.

I finally was able to hook up the main power wire to the bus terminals.
Then I ran two bus lines from The wire terminals to each end of the track layout.
The main power line has the yellow arrows..... The bus lines are in the green arrows.
The green wires go to the turn out tracks. I still have to run them and tac them in place.

On the control panel/board I mounted the 4 turn out switches. They are for the left side of my layout. They are Bachmann switches.
Next are the switches for the right side of the layout.
