Recently, I was paging through a 2001 Walthers catalog, and I ran across the Athearn locomotive section. I noticed that under SW1500, they listed a Family Lines SCL/LN unit. I was totally unaware that Athearn put out a SW1500 in that scheme, and was not aware Family lines even HAD SW1500's. Does anyone own one, or have a link that shows one?? I can't seem to find a pic of this unit anywhere. Were the SW1500's painted the same way as the MP15DC's? I want one in H.O. if the unit has the red and yellow stripes!!! Thanks.

Thanks for the link bnsf971!!!!! Looks like Family Lines just applied the hearald and lettering, without the red/yellow stripes, as on the MP15DC's!!. Not what I was hoping!! I hope they do a MP15AC in Family lines soon. Athearn did Seaboard System on the MP15AC!!! I'm not positive if the MP15's were actually AC's or T's in Family Lines paint, but if they were T's, I'd settle for AC's!!! LOL. Thanks again!!!

As a matter of fact,they had them both. The Seaboard System first got the MP-15AC's starting in 1978,and going into the early 1980's. L&N recieved 9 of the MP-15 AC's,and they were numbered 4225-4234. The Seaboard Coast line started out with 45 MP-15AC's numbered 4000-4019,and a second group with the number 4200-4224.The MP-15T locos Nos.1200-1214 arrived in 1984. A second order came a few months later with the numbers 1215-1242. William.

The Family Lines SW -1500's came from the L&N . They were numbered #5000-5029,later when The Family Lines Railroad was created,the locomotives were renumbered #1100-1129. William.
