EMD Leasing Blue

I'm planning on doing an EMD Leasing SD40-2 in the solid blue with white nose (number 6047). Any idea what would be an accurate blue to use on this unit ?

Athearn did a model of the 6047 years ago. Came in a set with a dummy GP38-2. I used Pollyscale GN Big Sky Blue to touch up the details I added and for the hand rails. It is a really close match.

I have an Athearn blue box EMD GP60 demo unit. To paint the handrails and do some minor touch up I had to use Conrail blue and mix in some white until I got a match. Not sure how close the Athearn paint was to the prototype color but at least I got a match from my mix. There may be an actual EMD blue out there someplace but since I was only doing small parts I didn't bother searching for it. For a complete paint job I'd go with what looks right to me on my railroads lighting whether a stock blue color or one I had to mix.
