Hi all, I'm in the process of rebuilding my layout and it will include helixes. I'd really like to know if I can run double-stack well cars, but I'm not sure they will fit.
If my models were within easy reach I'd simply place them on some track and get a vertical measurement myself. But they're packed away in separate boxes, not clearly labeled, buried under other boxes in a hard-to-reach location. If one of you modern-era modelers could get that vertical measurement on one of your own models, it would save me a heluva lot of time and trouble. Could you help me out with this?
I've got from 2-7/8" to 3" on my cars. (HO)
My clearance on average is 3-1/4", more where it's available.
In hidden staging it's not always possible to get the most clearance but it's best to get all you can.
